چکیده

Our goal is to show that temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients with orthopaedic instability can be effectively treated by the combination of occlusal splint therapy and molar intrusion. Diagnostic records 18 reporting previous TMD were evaluated. Postsplint anterior open bite was skeletally anchored Changes in overjet (OJ), overbite (OB) measured on articulator mounted models: initially maximal intercuspidation (MI), centric “de jour”, postsplint relation (CR) postintrusion CR. ANB (A point-Nasion-B point) angle, mandibular plane–palatal plane angle facial axis assessed lateral cephalograms. Morphological changes condyle detected pre-and posttreatment CBCT images. When compared screening mountings MI models, significant differences found OJ OB. Following wear, there a increase lower height decrease which turn increased angle. OB showed change when MI. After intrusion, mandible exhibited counterclockwise rotation, decreased height, OJ. Posttreatment CBCTs confirmed improved condylar morphology.Occlusal followed orthodontic intrusion provides MI-CR harmony, therefore, it seems an effective method for treating patients.
